Tigers Cannot Purr, But Blink To Show Happiness

An interesting fact about tigers was posted online:

“Tigers cannot purr. To show happiness, tigers squint or close their eyes. This is because losing vision lowers defense, so tigers only purposefully do so when they feel comfortable and safe.”

This is also practiced by their domesticated cousins. You can try slowly blinking at a cat and if they are feeling comfortable and happy they will likely wink back at you!
