There have only been 2 other puggle births in captivity in Taronga Zoo, making this a special event under the zoo’s conservation program. Echidnas some of the animals native to Australia.
Today, @tarongazoo announced the birth of two short-beaked echidna puggles which hatched in August – a rare captive breeding success for the species, with only two others born at the zoo in more than 30 years.
